I can hardly wait!

Gramma gave me a manicure. She says it's not fair that I get more manicures than she does. I really don't mind getting them done but if she wants she can get one in my place next time.

I can hardly wait for you to come next weekend. I have been practicing my tricks and want to show them to you. I have a special trick to show you. Uncle B has been working with me.

When you come back I want to spend the whole time with you. Make sure you take me where ever you go. I love being in the center of everyone's attention. Roof, see you soon! Posted by Picasa

Happy Easter!

I made some confetti for you, Happy Easter! Next time don't leave the church bulletin out where I can reach it. And I found the jelly bean that little Jacob dropped. It was yummy and chewy. The weather has been pleasant and gramma sent me outside to watch the Uncles play basketball. I wanted to catch that ball but they wouldn't let me on the court. Then I spent the late afternoon with gramma sitting on her lap watching a movie and playing with a little ball with grammpa. It's not the same as the one they used outside but it made me feel better. He tosses it and I bring it back for him. This way we both get a turn with it. I've had a busy day and there is lots more for me to check up on like that cat. Did you know there is a cat in the house? Every now and then I get a wiff and then bark, bark, bark. I'll find him soon. Posted by Picasa

Who's that?

We've had lots of company this week. Gramma's sisters came with their babies. I tried to so hard to keep up after them. Crumbs everywhere what's a dog to do but to pick them up, yum. Also I noticed a different kind of smell. There was something else new.

Gramma kept me on a tether most of the week. I know she didn't want me to be in the babies faces all week but they tasted so good full of baby food and milk that I had to try to give them love licks and wash their faces.

But there was something else different. I have been hearing noises in the back rooms and I tried to search it out without success during the week. One quiet morning after my daily constitutional Gramma put my breakfast in my bowl just like she always does and the bowl sets next to the washer on the floor of the porch. I jumped right in to gobble it up like I always do. What a shock! As I was gobbling I saw something move. Something or someone was hiding behind the washer. I immediately sounded the alarm. Roof, roof! Behind the washer was a cat! I've never been so close to a cat before.

Holiday was hiding behind the washer! And boy did I shock him too! We were almost nose to nose and I didn't even know he was there! Now the visitors have all left. The babies covered in babyfood and milk are gone. And the toys are picked up, but I still can hear Holiday. Holiday is still in our house! Now during the night while I'm locked up in my night crate I can hear him stalking (3am). I try to get Gramma to get up and let me out. I whine quietly but she doesn't want to get up at 3 in the morning.

My job now is to let Holiday know I am here. Roof Roof! And I am in charge.

My favorite spot

I have a favorite spot, I like to spend my days waiting for you to come home here. It is here on the couch I wait for you. When I hear or see anything I can respond. I can see the world.

I have full view of the central portion, the control center of our home. In a flash I can come. If great gramma opens a cubbard in the kitchen, I am there. When gramma or grampa comes home from work, I greet them. When Joey needs my help to do his schoolwork in the dining area, I am there.

This couch provides me the best vantage point in the house. It is from here I can see the street and sound the alarm if anyone approaches. The driveway is right outside the window, no one approaches without my knowledge. When you come home I will know. Visitors beware.

Honest, I didn't touch it!

It really looks like I got into some trouble today. But honestly, I didn't touch it. It just jumped up at me and, and, and.... that's what happens when it gets too quiet in here. Posted by Picasa

Riley in Green

Even though I'm a Mexican Chihuahua I still can look good in green. Have a good day! Posted by Picasa

Riley in Red

Don't I look just spiffy in my newly fixed Red Collar? Since I broke the prong in my regular collar gramma had an idea that great gramma could fix my red collar for me. It was too big and I was able to slip it over my head. With a snip snip here and a stitch stitch there, voila!

So don't worry about me I'm just fine.

It looks like gramma and you had a nice visit. Gramma wouldn't take me to see you even though I tried to get in her suitcase. She tells me that this picutre is at Cinderella's Palace in Disney, Orlando; and that the waiter took the picture. I like this picture, it looks like you are going to get something yummy to eat.

I broke one of the prongs on my collar. I know you can't see it but if I try really hard I might be able to break the other one too. Then I can run around and get into all kinds of fun things to do.

It's a rainy day today. Yesterday felt like spring, it was so warm I didn't even wear my sweater. I took lots of nice walks with Great Gramma. All the snow is melted. Gramma is planning some yard work for the springtime. I sure am looking forward to digging in the garden with her, but I hear that the winter is not completely out of the picture yet.
